Description
Jonagold is a large, slightly conical apple with an orangish-red blush. Its flesh is explosively crisp and juicy, similar to Honeycrisp but with more apple flavor. Look for Jonagolds in early to mid-October.

History
Jonagold is a cross between Golden Delicious and Jonathan, and it was developed at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York in 1943, introduced commercially in 1968.
