Description

This early season medium-sized apple is light yellow in color, with a bright luster and an occasional pink blush. They often have some russeting around the stem. Silkens are crisp and juicy, high in aromatic intensity and sweetness and moderate in acidity. They have a short storage life.

Silken is a cross between a Honeygold and Sunrise. It originated in Canada and was introduced commercially in 1997.
