
Description
RubyMac is a medium-sized strain of McIntosh that is strikingly red in color. Its peel has a bloom, a natural coating that helps the apple retain moisture. Its flesh is cream-colored with a tinge of light green. The fruit is juicy, crisp, and very firm with an even sweet-tart balance.

History
RubyMac was discovered in Comstock Park, Michigan, in 1999. It may be a cross of McIntosh and Rubinstar. It ripens in mid- to late September. RubyMac does well in cold storage for about six months.
