Pewaukee is a cross of Duchess of Oldenburg and Northern Spy, developed in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, before 1870. A medium-large, oblate apple, it is yellow-green with a red blush or stripes and a deep bloom. Its skin is a little heavy, but its flesh is crisp and its sweet flavor has hints of vanilla.
