
Description
Holly, as red as the holly berry, is a large cone or sometimes square shaped apple. The sweet, crisp flesh is creamy white and juicy. This multipurpose apple is ready for harvest in early October and is a good keeper.

History
Holly was developed in 1952 by the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center by crossing Jonathan and Red Delicious. It is less likely than its Delicious parent to become mealy in storage and is slightly tarter.
