Crimson Gold (the trademarked name of the European apple Svatava), is medium-sized, with red striping over yellow skin. Its cream-colored flesh is juicy and aromatic, with balanced sweet-tart flavor. A late season apple, it stores well.
Discovered: Czech Republic
Developed in the Czech Republic, Crimson Gold is not to be confused with an apple by the same name developed by apple breeder Albert Etter in 1944, a cross between a crabapple and an unnamed apple originally named Little Rosybloom.
