Description
D’Arcy Spice is a round, late season, medium to small apple, with patches of russet and red-orange over chewy yellow-green skin. Its creamy-colored flesh is aromatic, soft-firm to crisp, with nicely balanced flavor between tart and sweet. Its light, spicy flavor has hints of nutmeg. Its flavor becomes sweeter and more complex in storage.

History
D’Arcy Spice was discovered in 1785, growing in a garden in Tolleshunt D’Arcy, Essex, in southeast England. It was later introduced by nurseryman John Harris in 1848 with the name Baddow Pippin. Nothing of its parentage is known.
