Chandler is a large apple, pinkish red with yellow patches or striping. Its flesh is crisp and juicy, and it has good flavor, sweet with a little tartness.

History

Chandler’s history is not certain. It may have originated in Connecticut, or on the farm of Francis Richardson in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and later introduced by General Samuel Chandler of Lexington in the early 1800s.
