Description
York is a large, lopsided apple, deep red and streaked and spotted in green-yellow. Its flesh is creamy colored, coarse, and juicy, with a bright and puckery sweetness. York is harvested throughout early October to December, and it sweetens during its long storage life. York is a good fresh-eating, baking, and cooking apple, especially for applesauce, cider, jams, and dried apples.
